The Firm

Kevin Asbacher

AIA, Founding Principal.

Kevin Asbacher began his career in 1995 and for 16 years worked at several residential firms in Washington, DC; and Florida, before setting out in March 2011 to launch his own practice. In his 25 years focusing on custom residential design, he has fulfilled projects in a variety of traditional and modern styles, ranging in scale from 1,400 to more than 45,000 square feet, including award-winning new oceanfront estates, and restorations of landmarked properties.

As a modern classicist, Kevin has creatively interpreted the past for today, applying a contemporary sensibility for light, space, restraint, and elegance. And, he has attracted particular recognition not only for his dedication to enhance the architectural traditions of southeast Florida with original designs, but also for his commitment to the preservation of the region’s rich architectural legacy.

Notably, he has contributed to the preservation of historic buildings by such tastemaker-architects as Maurice Fatio, Howard Major, John Volk, and Marion Sims Wyeth. Kevin attended the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (in Architecture) in 1993, and also completed graduate studies to earn a Master of Architecture in 1995. He currently maintains architectural licenses in Florida and New York. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, and INTBAU (International Network For Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism).

At Asbacher Architecture, we are interpreting the best from the classical traditions for modern living and endeavoring to make the Asbacher name synonymous with the finest residential architecture.

1. DiscoverY

We explore your goals and aspirations and determine the layout and overall aesthetic to achieve them. We then translate those details into architectural renderings to bring the vision to life.

2. Selection

Architectural drawings are fine-tuned and finalized, interior and exterior materials and finishes are chosen, and construction, landscape architect, and interior design agreements are negotiated.

3. ExecutioN

Construction begins, landscaping renderings are presented and finalized, and, if desired, interior design planning is started.

With exacting standards and an uncompromising attention to detail, we thoroughly inspect every component of the project before welcoming you to your new home.

A progressive approach grounded in tradition

At Asbacher Architecture, we design beautiful homes of timeless character. Inspired by architectural styles throughout history, our projects are distinguished by their classically-refined scale, beautifully balanced proportions, and thoughtfully curated details.

Our approach, however, is anything but textbook. Whether new construction, a historic preservation, or a renovation or addition, at Asbacher Architecture we reinterpret architectural traditions through the lens of modern living to create exceptionally livable homes that are both technologically advanced and harmonious with their surroundings.

Through careful consideration of building contexts, each home is conceived as a unified expression of structure, style and setting, uniquely tailored to the client’s personality and specific requirements. The end result is a seamless execution of architecture, landscape and decoration that embodies the overall vision for the home.

For us, architecture is a collaborative, multidisciplinary process that begins first with a strong connection with the client and a shared understanding of their personal vision for the project. We then handpick a team of best in class partners, including builders, craftspeople, interior decorators and landscape designers, to bring the design to life.

Of course, the ultimate measure of our success–and our greatest reward–are the lasting relationships we build with our satisfied clients.
